The other day I was upstairs for a couple of minutes. When I came back downstairs Kate was saying, "Mommy! Mommy! Sammy made a BIG mess!" Unfortunately, she was right. It turns out, Sam helped himself to the baking cupboard, got out the powdered sugar (which just happened to have a hole in the bag) and spread it through the kitchen, dining room and then the family room and went to town making a mess. When I found him, he was holding a Care Bear, nose down to the floor, pretending it was eating it. Nice.
So as I was cleaning up all the mess, I kept hearing those old ladies at church who always tell you to "cherish every moment while your children are young because they are the best times of your life." Well, my theory on that is that it's just like being pregnant and giving birth...there are lots of fun aspects but there are also a lot of, shall we say, not so pleasant things (and full of pain things). But once it's over and you're done going through it, all you remember are the fun and great things about it and everything else just seems to go away. Then you just do it all over again.

love it! so when is the c-section? and do you have any names? I'm stoked that I get to be in town when you have this little girl!
oh don't you worry, we'll be there from about the 3rd week in June until Aug. 10th! sweet!
p.s. I wouldn't mind if you wanted to have her the 14th...my b-day, then you could name her Payton Sherstinky Chandler!
mostly I just like the name Payton
I don't know why stories about kids making huge messes are so funny! Probably because I don't have kids yet, I'm sure I will change my tune!! When Sherstine is in town we should all try to get together (depending on when you have your baby). I think we will be up in June or July.
Good for you for not losing your cool. I think I would have freaked out at him. Your kids are so cute.
Rach, how come so many people comment on your blog? You must be soooo loved. Oh, only to know what that feels like!=) Your impressions of young motherhood are pretty much the same as mine... I just can't wait to be old and only remembering the good times, instead of living through the hard ones!
I like your theory. It sounds pretty acurate!
